Class about Creating an Effective PowerPoint

Some tips for creating PowerPoint:
- text color and background need to be pleasant to the eyes
- light background and dark text
- graphic and text match
- use bullets rather than sentences (keywords)
- short and sweet, but explain during presentation
- no reading from the slide!
- good size text (no pretty pretty fonts!!!)
- 28/32 for heading and 20/24 for subtext
- GRAMMAR AND CAPITALIZATION
- beyond text
- limit number of slides
- consistent from slide to slide (no busy or distracting backgrounds)
- use animations and transitions sparingly
- use white space for graphics (about one per page)
- let graphics tell a story
- giving the presentation
- don't read and speak loudly
- eye contact and movement
- know topic throughly (summarize topic before the actual presentation)
- use opening to catch attention
- pause between slides
- remember the "B" key
- turns off presentation
- body language
- use natural gestures, don't hide from audience, use notes for reference, and PRACTICE!!!
